Not sounding obsessive to me. We had geo-caching where I worked. The letterboxes sound like a great alternative. The GPS, or geo-cache machine, was rather expensive and that left a lot of people out.

Thanks for telling about this - am thinking grandkids ages 11, 12 and 13 would enjoy this. Will let you know.

And, Robin, thanks for your idea. It gave me a goofy idea which I had fun doing. : )

And Robin, most impressed you did TWO cryptograms in one day. Do not think I could do the same. Letters still swimming before the eyes ....

Yippee!
Baldur finally got it, though my eyes are bleary and I'm ready to fall asleep.

Now performing the classic song written by John Denver is the 'Nearby Woonsocket Pantomime Quintet'

ANNIE'S SONG

You fill up me senses like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses come fill me again.

Come let me love you, let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter, let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you, let me always be with you
Come let me love you, come love me again.

INSTRUMENTAL VERSE

...Let me give my life to you
Come let me love you, come love me again.

You fill up my senses like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses, come fill me again.

Baldur, I may have posted the beginning of another musical interlude a la Peter Paul and Mary in a different forum. Perhaps it belongs here instead?

Baldur must have missed it, Was it on the maddyTV channel?

It was a response to your question about who would build the trophy case. I mused that if only I had a hammer...

As performed by the classic folk music group Peter, Paul, and Mary...

IF I HAD A HAMMER (The Hammer Song)
words and music by Lee Hays and Pete Seeger

If I had a hammer
I'd hammer in the morning
I'd hammer in the evening
All over this land
I'd hammer out danger
I'd hammer out a warning
I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land

If I had a bell
I'd ring it in the morning
I'd ring it in the evening
All over this land
I'd ring out danger
I'd ring out a warning
I'd ring out love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land

If I had a song
I'd sing it in the morning
I'd sing it in the evening
All over this land
I'd sing out danger
I'd sing out a warning
I'd sing out love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land

Well I've got a hammer
And I've got a bell
And I've got a song to sing
All over this land
It's the hammer of justice
It's the bell of freedom
It's the song about love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land

Ok I found it, and promptly parodied it.

Hahaha, people were having fun on, and near, Baldur radio last night. Loved the musical segment and also those potato awards ... especially the commentary! Gave some good chuckles to start the day! Thanks, folks.

Got to thinking about awards or other things people "win." Funny, the ones most valued are not the ones you can put on a resume: I won the heart of a wonderful guy, won two adoring cats, won when the bread came out right ... you get the idea. In highs chool marius won Home Room Representative. Hated it. Should have learned then that marius does not like meetings! But, no, later on was voted secretary for our regional section of naturalists. Didn't like that either; more meetings. And traveling just for a meeting? Oh horrors! Won a job I really wanted, but in the end, like Baldur, did not like the paperwork, meetings, or being a supervisor. Marius' immature view of the world is that people should do their jobs. If they did, there'd be no need for supervising except to help a person find ways to improve. (giggle) Other things won: a lovely wooden bowl, a gourmet cookbook which has ingredients so odd one must travel to other galaxies to procure them. See what I mean? Yep, think winning the hearts of loved ones (which includes furry beasts) is the best. (Well, I might not mind a few potato awards as Baldur's "Spudsy," Robin's best user name as Representative for State of Idaho and matthew's bookcase did thoroughly charm.)

Wishing all a great day in the land of the living!

A friend forwarded this video of a CBC show. In this episode, they are tagging a mama black bear and her cubs. It's funny and sweet, and I thought some of you would enjoy it. It is up in northern Ontario.

Well Baldur has got a crock of baked beans going into the oven now for supper (someone planted the idea in my head if memory serves me correctly).
I have cleaned the stairwell
Scrubbed the toilet
Moved the houseplants off of the sideboard in the living room to make room for the dessert buffet
Suddenly remembered that I forgot to iron the table cloth for the dessert buffet so did that as well
Boiled the eggs for deviled eggs
Pulled out the Spode cups, saucers, coffee server, creamer, sugar bowl and 24 dessert plates and have them ready to be rinsed off.
I'll be back on again in a bit.

That was fun Robin! I can't imagine being told we're gonna crawl into the den with a mother bear and mess with her cubs but don't worry, they're not agressive except, of course, for the agressive ones.

This just in... My son & his wife are pregnant... Which means of course, I am old...

Robin, if that video didn't kill the radio show, nothing will.

Not just old but forgetful, you told us about the expected delivery a couple days ago.
Baldur does not age, so the number of succeeding generations doesn't really matter.

I just found out myself... Ptptptptttttttt...
