Aluminum it seems appears in a lot of things, including flour tortillas, most 'Little Debbie' treats, Bisquick, muffin and pancake mixes.

You certainly could have been.
What triggered this phobia in my case was reading an article years ago linking the onset of Alzheimer's Disease with the use of aluminum cookware in the early 20th century.
Since then there have been articles claiming the link does not exist, but I do believe it.

This has been an oddly sedate scientific discussion on Radio Baldur.
To my longtime listeners I apologize over the lack of thongs and off-colored remarks.
Tune in again for more Radio Baldur.

Next time you make a boxed chocolate cake, try this one... add one can of diet cola to the cake mix, then bake as usual.

Will it explode?

No, thats only orbit gum and diet pop. No, the cake has no fat, and very little sugar. Use a yellow cake mix with diet mountain dew, 7up, orange etc. Their pretty good.

If you're worried about aluminum you should watch out for under arm deoderant as well. Most brands have it in them and it's been linked to breast cancer (for all you men out there, you too can get breast cancer- your breasts just aren't as pretty to look at as ours )
There are organic, aluminum free deoderants out there, they just don't work quite as well.

Thanks for keeping us abreast of the situation.

Well, Radio Baldur was getting a little tame. I thought it might be time to throw some boobs in there.

Dragon, that reminds me of a time when this quirky girl I worked with read an article about the aluminum in deodorant causing alzheimers and decided to quit wearing it. By the first day, we were all feeling nauseated from the stink. I'm not kidding you. I worked at the Red Cross at the time, and when donors started complaining, the supervisor had to tell the girl to do SOMETHING about her B.O. ! LOL I don't know what she ended up doing, but the problem resolved eventually, thank goodness.

Hey, Baldur, I was reading a few times in this forum where you have accrued ten points for a big word being used correctly and spelled correctly in a sentence. It gave me an idea for your forum. Maybe Channel Baldur should have a word of the day. This doctor I once knew with would give all of us a word of the day and we had to fid a way to use it in a sentence before the end of the day. He would just give us a word, and we would have to look it up and then at some point surprise him by using it. It was lighthearted fun. That was in the day before computers, so looking up a word required an actual DICTIONARY! lol (10 points for Robin)

We have a board in the back with our song of the week (we tried song of the day but we're too lazy to change it daily). Whenever one of us is feeling musical we write up our favorite lyrics out of a song. Currently featuring 'A Horse With No Name' by America.

Great idea Robin! Let's see what we can do with that.

I want to deal with the aluminum topic first though.
Aluminum is a serious concern with Anti-perspirants where it is generally the active ingredient that causes you pores to stop releasing liquid as a skin coolant. In that application commercials used to tout 'Aluminum Chlorhydrate' as the selling point of why their product was so effective.
Indeed most anti-perspirants are still using aluminum. I have ceased using anti-perspirants.
Deodorants however are basically a fragrance or at times an odor neutralizer and do not need to contain aluminum. As always 'Read the label'.
There are combination products out there too which are labeled: Deodorant/Antiperspirant' whichalso tend to be a problem.

So basically what I'm saying here is that Baldur does use deodorant, but not antiperspirant.

Whew!

'Song of the week' sounds like what happens when a song gets stuck in my head.
A few days ago it was : 'Midnight at the Oasis'
More recently it was 'Summertime' (...and the livin' is easy, catfish are jumpin' and the cotton is highhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...)
