I've always loved the line from the Beatles song 'Eleanor Rigby' ...... "waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door"....

I had to try....

yesssssssssss... more more m....er.... ok, greedy-R-us...

clorophilla - you saved me! That was one more type I've had on my list to find or steal time to draw... lol

indigo - it's a treat as it is, but the title you gave it ("Remove my mask..?") ADDED another one we(I) need in here-- that pulled-back-too-tight look from a new face-lift?! (well maybe not... a trifle unkind, eh)

mum - I'd always thought that Eleanor Rigby line referred to cosmetics - your interpretation is a hoot! (Love the jar drawing too - glass is hard to do.)

bhughes - vote on mine? Hey, I love getting votes on my pix (tho of course I keep telling myself they don't matter... heh-heh)! But something tells me it's time to re-clarify how these forum challenges work................

~~~
Besides the official TD Showcases, there are three ongoing Community forum challenges (Mugdots, the other one whose name dropped away ages ago, and ThinkWrite) --but these are unofficial, run by ourselves, and have NO VOTING SYSTEM.
All we do is contribute, kibbitz (chat) a bit, and use 'em as inspiration, a kind of kick in the pants to try new approaches and techniques, like little workshops.
Whoever hosts the challenge gets to select the next host, totally by their own whim! We call it "passing the baton", tho often we do slip and say "winning".
In practice that whim usually includes
- some consideration of how interested a contributor has shown themselves to be
- how much free time we happen to know (or suspect) they have or can steal
- whether they've been saddled with another one recently
- can they talk/type easily enough for their own comfort and ours?
- are they likely to amuse us with their theme choice?
- and then maaaaybe how their drawing stood out or affected us... lol
So these really are challenges, not contests -- significant difference!
Historical note - DMarcella issued the first drawing challenges; Anotherronism set up the first ThinkWrite.
Ok, here we go. I’m now caffeinated, bemused and amused. I really had no idea if this particular kick I’m on would take off here, but y’all have done yourselves proud!
If I’ve counted right, there are now 56 masks on display in Mugdots LVIII, 31 old and 25 new.
OLD
Marg popped in with --
--Puzzler’s classic done in the Animals palette (it was her icon for ages… can’t think of her without that white mask and/or a pink pen floating around in the periphery of my vision, tho’ Jessica Rabbit’s gaining on ‘em)
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=28814 -- Phantom of the opera
--Login’s amazing re-do of it in Avatar palette…
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=73615 -- Seeing Double [Happy Birthday Puzzler]
--Danila offered us 4 of her older ones including an orange feathered head-dress carnival one that absolutely epitomized what I had in mind…
ttp://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=78320 -- sugli sugli bane bane..
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=71549 -- Fortune-Venezia ' Mask-2 in 1
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=69848 -- MASKED BALL TONIGHT, HONEY!
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=71489 -- VENEZIA MASK
I hauled up 25 more out of the mists… covering critters as well as a smattering of just wonderful creations.
