The San Fransisco peaks of flagstaff Arizona holds one of the states only, ski/snowboarding areas and also is sacred to many of the local Native American tribes. The peaks draw tourists from all over the country. This summer wildfires raged in northern arizona and much of the scenery has changed due to that fact.

Oak creek canyon is nestled between uptown Sedona and Flagstaff Arizona. A beautiful drive, tho tourists inist on stopping every few feet to get out and take a picture.- the canyon holds 'slide rock' which is alot of fun-http://azstateparks.com/Parks/SLRO/index.html

The Chandelier tree in northern California had a hole cut into it's base in the 1930's- it is literally large enough to drive a car through- my husband and I drove through it back in 2006 and my mother visited there with her in the mid 1970's. it's truly a sight to see- here in Arizona tree's simply do not grow that big.

I've just made it with this one. This is drawn from a picture I took while visiting a friend in Seattle for a few days. On the way home after a long day of siteseeing, (I think we had been to Victoria), she turned to me and said "Want to see something?" When I said sure, she turned off on a side road and drove to where this was our view. I have no idea where it was, but it sure was memorable.
