Love the lists of 10 things folks are thankful for today. Sheftali's list:
Sleeping in with the dogs on the bed
Beautiful Fall weather with golden sunlight
Eating a great lunch, reasonably priced, at a local diner
Her husband
A great set of jazz music on the radio
A nice chat with her 92-year-old mother-in-law
A wondrous pink rose that bloomed
The computer is working well
The dogs--dachshund and corgi
Solving a hard sudoku puzzle

The glass continues to be at least half full!

Chocolate, Caffeine & Sleep... Now there is an odd threesome...

I'm allowed caffeine in the morning (along with my Adderall), it actually keeps me from napping which makes it easier to sleep at night.

I cheat and have chocolate Haagen Dazs in the evening but I don't tell!

Is that the game where everyone grabs their crotches and spit a lot? I think Robert's watching that

Baldur

The rest of my family is very enthusiatic about baseball, for that reason alone I pretend not to pay attention to it.

lol Baldur. Sheftali never watches the World Series. So many other more interesting things to do.

Baldur has been honing his E-mah-jongg skills at the AARP site.
Being officially elderly now has many percs.

matthew, I haven't seen any hobos in ages. In the city there are homeless people, but they don't wander around much. Baldur has always taken hobos to be at least somewhat mobile.
The last one I met was named MadDog, this was back in Providence in the early 1990s. It was a cold early winter day and I was wearing a sweat shirt and an older winter jacket.
He was sitting on a bench by the river, obviously not very warm in his sweatshirt.
Since I didn't have far to go to get back to my apartment I gave him my jacket. Baldur had been planning on donating the jacket to Goodwill anyway, but this was a good feeling and it skipped the middleman

Baldur did bake 2 loaves of pumpkin bread (with raisins!) today. A friend drove down from Worcester to visit and the thought of warm pumpkin bread with a pot of tea was rather appealing.
It was indeed a cold, windy, rainy day. Originally my plan was to build a fire in the fireplace, but by baking the pumpkin bread the house warmed up quite a bit. It seemed like with the fireplace going it would be too warm.

Oh Baldur--warm pumpkin bread and tea--how wonderful! Sheftali loves those days when she doesn't need to leave the house, and it's cold and gray outside. Always a great day for a pot of chili, some tea, and curling up with a good book.

Hobos = Random meat & veggies wrapped in aluminum foil & thrown into a camp fire... I have also heard them called Campfire Stew...

That is what my daughter helped me make for dinner... (It was actually in her little cook book that she uses to plan & make a meal each week)...

This reminds me of the pic where we sang to each other of Egyptian favorite things... Dang if I can find it either... Thought I had it in my favorites...
