LOL @ Nancy Reagan as Wicked Witch of the West! Makes me wish I could go see this guy speak! Very entertaining!

I once won a free-night's stay at a B+B about an hour outside of Boise. Was dating Mike at the time, long-distance (he lived in Phoenix) so planned this romantic night there while he was in town. The B+B was an add-on to a lovely log cabin on the banks of the snake river. The seventy-something year old woman and her late-sixties husband had decided to add on 3600 sq. ft. to their existing log home, and make it a B+B. They ordered the logs, and built it by hand themselves. Did all the staining, and everything involved in building by themselves, with occasional help from some of their senior citizen friends. It was lovely and luxurious! We were given much privacy, but also welcomed to join in any of their evening activities they participated in. There was a guest book in the room, and they asked for comments or suggestions. My suggestion was to get rid of the big-screen cable TV! Mike spent FIVE HOURS watching NASCAR that night! First of all, I hate Nascar! Secondly, the noise alone from those cars was making me angrier and angrier. Our romantic evening turned into an out and out argument, complete with hurt feelings! No wonder I don't date Mike anymore! LOL

That is sweet Robert went with you. (Is sweet a word Baldur uses? I've been told men do NOT use that word, no matter what. Spouse will not use it except in terms of cooking.)

Anyway, the masters of dream land are calling this "jester" and I must obey. Thanks for yet another entertaining evening at Baldur Radio.

Sweet dreams to all ...

Anyway, that was my only experience in a B+B. Luckily I had the river otters and Ospry to distract me from Nascar! And oh, to have the health and energy of that couple when I am their age!

And the breakfast....IT WAS TO DIE FOR!

Brownies are sweet.
Winning the lottery might be sweet.
Baldur would not use it for any other connotation
Goodnight jester.

When Robert is away from home the television does not get used, at all.
It just never occurs to me to want to watch it.

Wow, I go away for a little while to check my facebook and I miss sooo much!
My fella calls me sweetie on occasion, but I'm not sure if that quite counts. He also does occasionally say 'Sweeeeet' (ala Cartman) to something he really likes such as a fancy engine or a hot sports car.

I would love to stay at a B+B. We almost did last summer. We were driving up to Kelowna from Washington and when we were about 20 mins out of town we hit road construction. Unfortunatly, being a narrow mountain road it meant they shut down the whole highway for about an hour. We, of course, got to the backed up line of cars almost exactly when they shut he road down, if we had been 15 minutes earlier we'd have got through. So anyway, shortly before that we'd been worried about getting a hotel room in Kelowna since it was getting late so we called to the Super 8 (mostly because we knew the 1-800 number) and booked a room. So we're stopped on the road right next to the drive way to a lovely looking little B+B, it would have been no problem at all to just turn down into it and be sleeping in a comfy bed and all we could think about was the 24 hour cancellation rule the Super 8 had. Though when we did finally get there they had a pool and we'd been dying for a swim so it was alright.

Baldur had a facebook account for almost a month, I didn't like it at all, MySpace is better suited to my temperment.

Now how difficult could that little cryptogram be?
Baldur will post the answer on Monday.

Baldur

OK there we have one peep.
How is everyone (or anyone) doing with the cryptogram?

Baldur decided it is solvable, I just printed it out and played it myself.

2853. 9 Oct 2009 08:47

marius

Solvable you say?
And the rationale is because YOU solved it?
peep. peep.

2854. 9 Oct 2009 08:48

Baldur

Why yes, if Baldur can solve it anyone can.

Robin's printer is giving her grief this morning, and I don't think I can solve this without being able to write. Do I have the ambition to write it out in long-hand, instead of just copying and pasting and printing it like usual?? Tune in later to find out....

At least it's a short puzzle this time. Though when dealing with cryptograms the longer puzzles give you more clues to work with.

Baldur loves this particular puzzle with all it's double letters. To make it even better there are no dyslexic words this time.
Though there are a couple rather difficult words.

This weekend is the nearby Scituate Art Festival. For a change rain is only predicted for early Satyrday so it shouldn't be that horrible for the artists.

In all honesty plenty of people go and don't even glance at the art. There are plwnty of other things there.
Being in a quaint little New England village in the autumn, just the scenery is a main attraction. People arrive in droves to buy pumpkins, potted chrysanthemums and sacks of new apples.
There will also be plenty of food, a flea market, and just about everyone in town will have a yard sale.
One also gets a bit of exercise as there is no onsite parking. The police erect roadblocks around the entire perimeter. You need to enter sans vehicle.
Often Baldur has had to park a mile or more away along Route 116. By the time we leave the line of parked cars often snakes twice that distance behind the Baldurmobile.

With luck Baldur can get an apple dumpling this year at the concession run by the volunteer fire department.
Having attended this event for at least the last 30 years I can proudly say I finally got my first dumpling just last October. It was only obtained through stubborness, but was well worth it.

When Robert and I attend, we look around at everything and then go to the food court just before leaving. They are always out of the apple desserts by then. ALWAYS.
Last year Baldur made a beeline for the apple dumpling wagon as soon as he arrived. Forked over his $4 (which indeed seems like a lot, but the money does go to good use) and finally got one.
Robert rarely touches dessert and wasn't interested.
We made the rounds afterwards and then went back and had dinner.
Remember sometimes one must eat dessert first.

Well indeed we have a winner, congratulations marius.
Now really the puzzle wasn't that hard this time was it?

Baldur just got back from making groceries (a colloquialism I picked up in New Orleans).
My market now refunds 5c each time you bring a reuasable bag, it used to be 2c. Being green is paying off big time.

This wasn't a very large marketing trip but we needed chickpeas, peanut butter and a few other staples.
For the next couple weeks the local farmstand will still be in business so our vegetables and fruit continue to come from there. After that everything will come from the supermarket.
