What a welcome response. We have four new drawings and a bundle of oldies ... all a delight to behold. Keep them coming, folks.

this is mine: a gorgeous flaming flower... I don't know if it is the same in English, but in Italy we call it "spada di fuoco" (= sword of fire).

How very strange... I love having flowers around me, and indeed take hundreds of photos of them.... but looking back through my TD gallery it's clear I've done relatively few in here, and almost no proper "portraits" of 'em.
Well, the cornucopia of my av, of course...
and then...

Admittedly, some of those are kind of abstract... but they say 'flower' to me!
So now I've gone thru my files and found one of a rather enticing calla (I like the gentle curves) and a rose with light shining through it. I'll see if I can translate either or both into TD, but it/they may not show up in time, if at all!
Anyone else like the idea of turning this 'flowers' theme into an ongoing forum showcase after the challenge part per se is done?

I love the idea, Q. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks to all of you who have submitted 'old' drawings.
The new drawings are slowly mounting up and I will pass the baton sometime tomorrow morning, 30 July.
I will add a few of my own after the baton has been passed and hope that you will run with Q's idea then.

Good morning TDers. It's make my mind up time and you haven't made things easy for me. Thanks for entering the oldies … they all added to the pleasure gained from your responses.
Of the new drawings, there were some lovely surprises:
Starting with Arw's 'Serenity', a plethora of flowers in a lovely landscape.
Her 'Golden Meadow' is equally lovely.
hanging gave us a drawing of a delightful 100 year old tree full of 'Cherry Blossom', followed by what could possibly be the same tree 'at night'. Thanks for painting the scene in words as well … it all adds a little something.
mdawrcn quickly drew a series of lovely flowers: 'Fuchsia', 'Dogwood' and a superb drawing of 'Morning Glory' … what a beauty.
mum23 also painted a scene with words … an interesting anecdote from her own experience. The drawing of 'Diuris maculata - Donkey Orchid' is a remarkable example of drawing in candy.
skynyrd gave us a very luminous drawing of an Iris Lily with a beautiful blend of colours.
clorophilla's 'Sword of Fire (Vriesea Splendens)' is equally vibrant. Thanks for the Latin name.
Vals 'African Violets', beautiful in itself, sits on what looks like lichen covered stone … an added bonus.
Last but not least is Qsilv's beautiful drawing of a 'Calla lily' … so much depth and attention to detail.
You're all winners for me but on this occasion I pass the baton to Qsilv. Whatever challenge you come up with Q, I hope folk will run with your idea of turning this into an ongoing forum showcase. It already has a fair collection of lovely drawings.

I *love* this flower challenge... already have another on the drawing board (if the Load Draft gremlin doesn't gobble it).
So thanks for the fun, Login, and the honor too -- there are some truly lovely drawings in here!
