This is an older one of mine (I totally forgot about it when the Cast Shadows challenge was running!)

whoo.. I can't believe that a week went by so fast, but thanks to everyone who joined in this challenge - and sorry I didn't have much time to give running comments !

I thought there were some fabulous pictures entered - both old and new - so I'd like to share my thoughts, particularly on the new ones..

First up, we had polenta's great 'RODEO' - what a way to set the tone of the challenge - I just loved the framing, and beautifully done details like the coil of the rope
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=91707

Qsilv's pink-buttocked 'tan chaps' cowboy and KM's fantastic Indians were just great to see again, as were five's wonderful 'Rodeo' and Hazer's 'Early morning run' and '8 second ride'

Dreamy submitted a really wild, beautiful pic, with 'mustang' http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=92589

and than there was five's haunting 'By a village' .. which just had me spellbound: http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=92628

I thought Shanley's 'Ready' was just excellent - now that horse is definitely a mule ! - but what a stunning picture, casually thrown together in Fruit :

puzzler's brilliant 'Buffalo Bill' was really stand-out - like everyone knew exactly who the picture was of - and the wise, learned expression and beard just made it :
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=92787

Notwithstanding, Shanley then comes up with the totally different 'Pioneers' home' - beautifully composed in Candy :

.. and I just loved the sheriff's star and neck-tie in Clorophilla's 'Tin star' - and the mesas, clouds, shirt.. :
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=92921
.. and yes, 'the king of the chaparral' was DEFINTELY western enough !
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=93247

five's 'Homecoming' I thought was just awesome - in Fruit - and I thought I could see the original intent and the change of mind that stopped it being entitled 'Lawmaker' or 'Gunman'..
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=93077

I'm still speeachless about Login's 'Roundup', so just present it again for your delight :
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=93308

Undeterred, five throws in the surreal (?), fantastic 'Cowboy Dreams', which I still get struck just looking at:
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=93342

.. until Heidi's excellent 'Yippee Kai Yay !!!!!' restores some semblance of fun: http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=93392

I loved seeing Dragon's wonderful 'Prairie Silhouette' again, and then five came up with the magnificent 'Buffalo Hunter' (which somehow still reminds me of Don Quixote ?) :
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=93541

Thanks, clorophilla, for adding KM's great 'Chief Flower Power', as well - from TD's top Indian artist (great pic, KM !) : http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=93533

Qsilv presented us with the beautifully engmatic 'Gold Guns Greed & Gov't-forced migration' - I think I'm still looking at the overlaying of translucent colours - and what a great pair of pistols !
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=93582

Heidi's 'Texas Armidillo' crept in towards the end - a very hot, red little beastie (what happened to his tail ?) :
http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=93733

and the great post-challenge submissions by Hazer and five :
the wonderful cow with attitude in 'Ain't gonna happen' and the almost ephereal 'Judge Roy Bean' (the eyes have it !).

So what can I say ? I declare ALL of the above winners !

.. and I'll pass the baton on to the 'youngest' of the deserving winners - in TD terms, at least - Dreamy

for 'mustang' : http://www.thinkdraw.com/picture.php?pictureId=92589

Dreamy

Oh, my gosh; Thank you! I'm surprised and honored (and flattered) to have won this one because there are so many *really* nice pictures involved; more than a few just blow my socks off! There are some truly formidable artists here.
I'm thinking a fun idea for the next challenge would be a wall or corner of a furnished room, real or imaginary; primitive through contemporary, any nationality.
I'm unsure how to proceed so any suggetions would be welcomed.
Thanks again for the nice notice, not to mention being named the "youngest" anything!
