Ok, let me get this straight. It was a dream, correct? I liked how in the possible dream you were a ghost hovering above your body. This really sucked my in, I love a good ghost story. |

Frightening story, Matthew. Luckily, the end takes us back to reality. I really enjoyed reading it. |

Matthew, to me it was either a near-death experience or someone who actually dies and sees his long lost father. Considering the operating table and the blood, I think the latter. Very thought provoking |

Alrighty, I'm gonna close this for submissions now. There have been a shocking number of entries and a little controversy too so it might take me a little time to make my decision for Torch Bearer so bear with me. I'm going to go back through all the stories and reread them all, I know I'm going to be torn and have quite a time of deciding so I want to do this right. |

Okay, Torch passing time. I'm not going to go into each story, there were actually no less than 18 stories (not including my own) by 10 different writers (not including myself), so discussing each one would simply take too long. I will mention a few that really caught me up though, giraffe's poem sucked me in and had me reading and rereading it. matthew submitted more in this thread then I think he has in all the rest put together, my favorite of his being his last one titled Awakening, I loved the drifting quality of it. midnightpoet's The River was beautiful, I loved way I felt as if I were sitting on that riverbank forgeting about humanity when I read it, it really took me away. My choice for torchbearer is going to go to Nylecoj for her first tale, an untitled one. It was an amazing, complicated and yet simple story and the fact that it was all one long sentence kept me rapt, it was moving and so in line with what I was thinking when I chose the word list. So congrats Nylecoj and thanks to everyone who contributed! |

I was in a store last month where I saw a nice large clock... The numbers on it were a little disconcerting however... They read... I... II... III... IIII... IV... V... VI... VII... VIII... IX... X... XI... XII... |
