If you’re reading this
And My kid's are sitting there
Looks like I only got a one-way ticket over here
I sure wish I could give you one more kiss
And a fight was just a game you played when you were kids
Well I’m laying down my life
I’ve given up it's true
But I’m up here with God
And we’re BOTH watching over you

So lay me down
In that open field out on the edge of town
And know my soul
Is where my momma always prayed that it would go
And if you’re reading this
I’m already home

If you’re reading this
There’s gonna come a day
When you move on
And that’s okay
Just remember this
I’m in a better place
Where fighters live in peace
And angels sing Amazing Grace

So lay me down
In that open field out on the edge of town
And know my soul
Is where my momma always prayed that it would go
And if you’re reading this
If you’re reading this
I’m already home

matthew, that was so lovely I can't bring myself to make some wry anti-matthew Club comment.

Matthew, did you write that?

This was originally a song sung by Tim McGraw, and quite an emotional one.
matthew's version has been adapted to his circumstances and is still quite moving.

Those words were very moving, indeed, Matthew. Glad to hear your Mom is with your Dad now.

Matthew, that reminds me of one of my favorite songs...

When I go, don't cry for me
In my Father's arms I'll be
The wounds this world left on my soul
Will all be healed and I'll be whole.
Sun and moon will be replaced
With the light of Jesus' face
And I will not be ashamed
For my Savior knows my name.

It don't matter where you bury me,
I'll be home and I'll be free.
It don't matter where I lay,
All my tears be washed away.

Gold and silver blind the eye
Temporary riches lie
Come and eat from heaven's store,
Come and drink, and thirst no more

It don't matter where you bury me
I'll be home and I'll be free
It don't matter where I lay
All my tears be washed away

So, weep not for me my friends,
When my time below does end
For my life belongs to Him
Who will raise the dead again.

It don't matter where you bury me,
I'll be home and I'll be free.
It don't matter where I lay,
all my tears be washed away.

it's called 'all my tears' by jars of clay (<my favorite band)

I haven't heard "Jars of Clay" but it is a great song; Julie Miller wrote it and performs it on the soundtrack to Song Catcher.

I haven't seen the movie but I listen to the music often.

And here I had been thinking that God was thought to be one of my alter egos...

You are indeed a Child of God ~ with all the ego that entails! Hope you are doing OK with work ~ keeping situation in prayer for best outcome!

Thanks Lynn... but you know as well as I, God's ends justify the means... When I look back over my life, it amazes me that if it were not for the changes that I thought were aweful in my life, i would never be where i was needed when I was needed... God has never done me wrong... just sometimes it takes me some time to see how right he was...

Profound Matthew and right on. He always leads me in the right direction whether I want to go or fight tooth and nail, and have to go kicking and screaming ( of course to my later shame and regret). yet I always seem to get where I'm supposed to be in time

My anti matthew fans are not taking advantage of this thread... seems they still prefer to randomly attach their dribble to other areas... Perhaps we should have a class for them... I will need to find them a short bus though...

it seems a shame, how can I keep up with the matthew bashing if I can't find it?

Say something about you. Do you have horns? Are you toothless? Don't you have a shower every day? Do you make noise while having soup?
Say something bad about you and I could join the anti-matthew Club provided the monthly fee is affordable for me. Also, what are the requirements to enter please?
