Now, polenta, you have to give the figures for the total number of pictures drawn in each category ..

Well, I took into consideration that there are 20 pics in each page and therefore multiplied the number of pages by 20. Correct me if I'm wrong.

FLOWERS (632 pages)= 12,640 pics
FACES (432 pages)= 8,640 pics
CANDY (406 pages)= 8,120 pics
GOTHIC (375 pages)= 7,500 pics
ANIMALS (287 pages)= 5,740 pics
FRUIT (248 pages)= 4,960 pics
AVATARS (135 PAGES)= 2,700 pics

I would wager that nearly a third of the gothic pics are from MEL...

polenta, if you look at the "most ratings" the number that got 10 would not doubt be much higher. A lot of the pictures with the most votes were voted down.

I think most rated and highest rated would be very similar. Someone could try calculating it.
This all began as a game with numbers (it's a holiday today here) but on second thoughts , think about this:

Percentage of pics that have 10 or more votes:

In ANIMALS 6.2%
In AVATARS 3,3%
In CANDY 2.3%
In FLOWERS 1.75%
In FACES 1.1%
In FRUIT 1%
In GOTHIC 0.6%

So only very few people have received ten or more votes for their pics, from about half a percent in GOTHIC to six percent in ANIMALS.

I wonder if these and other figures could teach us TDers something.

I didn't do them all, but Animals has 774 pictures that got 10 votes or more.

Yes, Luna, I only did the same with ANIMALS but instead of HIGHEST RATED , MOST RATED. There are 38 pages times 20 plus 14 more pictures. That equals 774 pics with 10 or more votes.
The difference between HIGHEST RATED (356 pics) and MOST RATED (774) is really enormous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If someone has time, he can do it or maybe I'll do that some other day.
Then all my percentages could be all wrong.
I wonder what this all indicates.

Yes, the 6% of animals and the 0.6% of gothic must have a reason.
Is it that animals allows artists a wider variety of things? I've also noticed that fruit gets very little mathematical results.
Let me make a joke...........................

If you want to get few votes............use fruit or gothic.
If you want to get a lot of votes....use animals.

Oh, I forgot there must be TALENT too. LOL

Gothic Emperor ???....Matthew is just a little off.I just checked my gothic gallery and as of 8--29--09 5:36 PM I only have 1344 pictures..not 2500 you are right about one thing tho gothic doesn't seem to get many comments..I have been surprized that lately some of the ones i've done are getting a few comments..

Why mekeys aren't they commented? Is it that we take them for granted? As if anyone could do something beautiful with gothic?

mekeys, I think most of your 'gothics' are not commented on because patterns are patterns are patterns, in any palette. They are good patterns but, after a while, they all blur into one. Recently, you've moved out of your comfort zone, and your drawings are suddenly interesting again.

In MOST RATINGS the figures go like this:

AVATARS 117 over a total number of 2,802

FRUIT 263 over a total number of 5,008

FLOWERS 807 over a total number of 12,744

FACES 313 over a total number of 8,651


The percentage of pics with 10 votes or more changes DRAMATICALLY if we calculate MOST RATINGS instead of HIGHEST RATINGS.

ANIMALS 13.4% versus 6.2%

AVATARS 4.1 % versus 3.3%

CANDY 6.78% versus 2.3%

FLOWERS 6.3% versus 1.75%

FACES 3.6% versus 1.1%

FRUIT 5.2% versus 1%

GOTHIC 3% versus 0.6%

In all the categories, the percentage of pics is higher if we count MOST RATED.
What's your interpretation?
