that ended up in the Showcase, but don't belong there? It kind of makes it tough to browse the gallery, and a high-voted piece that isn't supposed to be in the Showcase could knock a legitimate Showcase piece out of the running.

Only way is to write to Rachel via feedback. She'll sort it.

Hiya Rachel..

Thanks for cleaning up the Beginnings Showcase (and the Christmas Holidays one).. but I've just looked at the first page of Beginnings, and I think there are actually only three pictures that meet the mark..

I know it's probably impossible for you to monitor the Showcase on a daily, or even weekly basis.. but, if the option to include a pic was held under the 'Edit Details' bit, people wouldn't submit a pic by mistake.. and if there was a 'remove from showcase' option (also under edit details), then I think you'd basically get rid of most of the problem..

Love to know your thoughts.. or why this would be too hard !

Out of the running for what??? The showcase isn't some sort of contest... It is just a way to give people drawing ideas...

matthew..

I resuscited this thread, because I didn't want to start a new one, or mix up the removal of pictures from Showcase suggestions..

LadyO's comment was made 5 months ago..

Only prob with it that I see (if I understand right) is that after Rachel removes a pic from the showcase... They could just stick it back in...

Then how about a box on each pic in the showcase for anyone to flag up, if they think it is in the wrong place. This would operate a bit like the report system, so say five hits on the pic would flag it up to Rachel and then she makes the decision to remove it or not. Once the decision is made, the box disappears. This would stop further vindictive voting. The artist would always be able to argue their case via feedback, should they need to. As Rachel goes through the showcase, pics which are obviously correctly placed, could have their box removed by her.

I know there are some people who put pictures that don't belong into the showcase just to get attention (though I don't really get that as it now cycles through nearly as fast as the gallery does) but I'm sure there are also people who simply don't understand how it works. It seems like often when you see pics that shouldn't be there they seem to be done by kids and frequently you'll see several grouped together by the same person.
It might help that if it was a little more clear that you don't have to submit to the showcase when submitting to the gallery.

I must agree with both of you... (Weird)...
