I have a lot of respect for our nation's heroes that have put their lives on the line for our freedom. There are so many great examples of valor in our historical conflicts- from the American Revolution to WWII, and from Viet Nam to Iraq (just to name a few.)

You can submit ideas from any one of these wars, military portraits of friends and/or family members, or anything else that springs to mind within this theme.

Submissions will be accepted between Monday 11 May and midnight on Sunday 17 May.

So come on everyone, let's see some tributes to some real heroes! I look forward to seeing some awesome ideas from the talented minds on this site!

This is created from an actual picture of my grandpa during the Battle of the Bulge in Europe during WWII. He was one of the few Japanese American soldiers to fight for the US during that time for the Army Rangers. I am so proud of what all of these soldiers have done to give freedom to this country.

I am beginning to think I wont get the time to get a submition in... I have started a pic, but so far all I have had time to do is the smoke...

So if someone else would try to do this pic it would be cool... It will be difficult to do, but it is one of the best war pics I know...
