Oh, LOL mum..
..if you're going to do to writing what you seem to be doing to pastels, I will be one of the first to claim that I knew you since you started (well, on TD, at least) !
The Falklands were always somewhere that I wanted to emigrate to - the islands are barren & have sheep (like Dartmoor), are surrounded by sea (um.. yes, I know, they're islands) and are a long, long way away from home and family.
I remember well when war was declared. I was en route up the M1 to Manchester, when the radio broadcaster advised the English audience that they were at war with Argentina and that the plucky Falklanders were resisting attempts at invasion by the Argies.
My companion (and driver) happened to be an erstwhile member of HM forces and forthwith determined to turn the car around to return to London; it was with some difficulty that I pointed out that his advanced years (31, I believe at the time) would seem him better off delivering me safely to my destination.
I would really like to find out more about the EALS (Existential Australopithicine Luncheon Society ) if at all possible - and if one doesn't actually have to be an Australopithicine to join ? I'm also dead into nihilistes, anyway, although I'm not too sure about the Lucretian tendencies that you're referring to - nothing to do with Shakespeare, I trust ?
While we're all waiting for Qsilv to rejoin us, I think we should start a new (interim) challenge, so as everyone (including me) begged off from winning the last, I'll be presumptious and kick-start the interim one.
This space will remain open for Qsilv to resume matters
